Big Helper

Madison is being such a big helper lately. She wants to help me do EVERYTHING!
Today, she unloaded her laundry from the dryer all by herself. Now if she could just fold it all and put it where it belongs:)
And here she is helping me cook some "hankie pankies" for a Christmas party.

Me and my baby boy:)

Closet Renovation

My wonderful husband is in the process of renovating our bedroom. He started yesterday with our closets.
Here is a before picture. Both of our closets were unpainted and only had a wood rod in them to hang clothes on.
We picked out a color paint we wanted for our room and some closet organizer stuff...and Jason got to work. On the left of the closet I have some shelf area and shoe organizer. In the middle is a pull out drawer.
And some good hanging space and more shelf area on the right.
He also installed a light wiring it in through the attic and changed the door
to open to the left so I had more room to get in.
He moves on to his closet tomorrow, and after that he will paint our room.
The only thing we have left to get is a new comforter set.
Madison said it perfect yesterday: "Daddy is a good fixer."

And here's little man just takin' it easy:)

Rainy Day Fun...

First off, let me say that I have the best husband in the world! Jason kept the kids yesterday morning so I could go out shopping ALONE!!!
Here's what they were doing when I got back home. A homemade tent courtesy of Dad. Madison loves it. It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but Jason even made a sign that says "Madison's house" and if you can see the little bunny on the left side of the picture, that is her doorbell. (The bunny jingles because it has a bell inside:)
Nothing better to top of a cold, rainy day than a big pot of chili and a fire going.
Here's a cute picture of Madison warming up her feet.

And, the cutest girl in the world herself....Madison:)

Mason trying to sit up all by himself. Daddy's legs are behing him helping him prop up. He loves being able to sit up and see everything. He's watching Madison dance in this picture...anytime he watches her, he just lights up.

Happy Holidays!
Here is Madison by "her" tree. Since we won't be home for Christmas we didn't want to go out a buy a real tree, so we just put up our little 3 foot. Madison decorated it all by herself. I think this year is going to be the most fun for her in terms of Christmas. After we got done with the tree last night, I plugged it in so the lights would come on. Madison said, "Is it Christmastime now?" I replied, "yes." And then Madison said, "Is Santa Claus gonna come bring me some presents?" (She said that last line while jumping up and down and screaming!)
She's so cute and I love to see her get so excited.
Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of everyone together, but oh well.

Mason trying to sneak a chip:)

Eating rice ceral for the first time. He loves it!

I love this picture!

Grand Bay

We took a trip to Grand Bay today. The weather was perfect for a stroll down the boardwalk:)
Here is Madison on the look-out for alligators. (I love how she has her hand on her head...she's so cute!)

Madison showing off the flower she picked...

...and then threw in the water.

We saw 3 alligators while out today! There is one right in the center of this picture.
There is also one right in the center of this picture too, but it's very hard to pick out. We were at the top of the "Eiffel Tower" as Madison calls it.

This one you can obviously see. It was right at the edge of the boardwalk. Don't worry, there were boards and wire lining the boardwalk so they couldn't get us:)

Mason just enjoying the ride with Daddy.

Hello all! Most of you probably already know, but for those of you who don't, Mason had a bout of croup this past week. He started with an occasional light cough on Saturday. On Tuesday night his cough was getting worse and he was starting to wheeze. I took him to the Doctor first thing Wednesday morning and he was diagnosed with croup. He was put on breathing treatments 4 times a day and on steroids for 5 days. We went back for a follow up on Friday and he got a clean bill of health...thank God! Throughout all of this, Mason was still his usual happy self. He was never really fussy at all; he's such a great baby! He is doing fine now. He will still occasionally wheeze and I can give him breathing treatments as needed.
Here he is getting a breathing treatment. He thought is was funny when the smoke/steam hit his face and he would laugh sometimes.
It was such a nice day today that Madison got to eat lunch outside.

Here is Madison reading a story to Mason. She is so good with him and she loves to entertain him.

Here are some pine cone turkeys that Madison and I made today.

Stuff...

Hello all! There was some excitement at our neighbor's house this afternoon. Our neighbor's behind us had a fire going in their burn barrell, but apparently the burn barrell was a little too close to their old wood shed. The wind must have blown a piece of debris on the wood shed and the rest is history. Below are some pictures Jason took while it was happening. That tree in the corner there is right at our fence, and the fire as so close that it actually warped our fence. No one was hurt, but the unfortunately lost everything they had in their shed. Hopefully insurance will help them out.

Jason had is final out appointment for the Air Force today. He hasn't been working for the past couple of weeks, but today is his official day out of active duty. He will be on terminal leave through January and in March he will begin as a traditional reservist. He will do one weekend a month and 2 weeks a year. Here's a picture I took of him on his last day going in as active duty...can you tell he's happy!

Big sister, Madison.

Mason just chillin'.
